ON A PERSONAL NOTE

What happens to your fur baby when it’s dropped off?

Some come bounding in exploring outside and in, enjoying a cuddle inbetween.
Others come in shy and a little timid, unsure of their new surroundings. We reassure them with lots of cuddles and doggy talk to make them feel at home. They soon find their favourite spot and settle.
We will send you photos and updates of how they are going, so you can relax too.
Dog Fun

But all Dogs just wanna have fun.

With your permission we take your dog on fun walks in parks , bush walks, cafes that allow dogs, and beach fun where permitted. Dogs are kept on the leash at all times.

Certain activities are subject to your Dogs age and energy levels.

F.A.Q

A meet and greet is always arranged prior to confirming a booking. This allows both the owner(s) and the minder to agree that the dog and minder are a good fit prior to going ahead with the booking.

If a dog becomes ill while in Rosie’s Retreat’s care we will first attempt to contact the owner and discuss if your dog needs to go to vet. If the owner cannot be reached we will contact your Veterinary Clinic and discuss with the Vet the best option for treatment.
Vet Clinic bill will be on-charged to the owner on your return.

Once we have the diagnosis, we will contact you or your allocated emergency contact and provide an update and options for treatment.

During our first booking phone call, we will discuss your dog’s preference when it comes to other dogs. If it prefers to be in a home with no other dogs, then we will arrange that. Some minders have their own dogs, but we aim to provide a service that suits both yours and your dogs preference.

To ensure you dog has the best possible time while at Rosie’s Retreat, we require the following to be provided at the time of drop-off:

  • Dog food
  • Your Dog’s bed (If they have one)
  • Your Dog’s favourite treats
  • Your Dog’s favourite toy(s)
  • Written instructions for the minder as to your dogs schedule, commands, any quirky habits they may have, or medications that need administering (if applicable)

All accounts must be  paid in full within 3 business days of the scheduled drop-off of your dog.

Once your deposit is paid and your booking confirmed, you have a 24 hours ‘change of mind’ period in which to get your deposit refunded in full.

After the 24 hours has expired your deposit is non-refundable and the dog minder is compensated for the lost work.

All dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations. A copy of their vaccination certificate may need to be sighted and kept on file.

It is essential that your dog has been vaccinated against kennel cough. Your veterinarian can administer an intranasal vaccination for kennel cough. The stand down period is 48 hours after treatment before we can mind your dog.

We ask that all dogs be treated for fleas and worms prior to their visit to Rosie’s Retreat. If your dog is found to have fleas we will treat the dog, but the cost of treatment will be passed on to the owner.

All dogs visiting Rosie’s Retreat will need to be sterilised.

Rosie's Retreat did a fabulous job looking after our precious dog/s. The Dog Minder was lovely, genuine and most accommodating. While away we were sent photos/updates on how our boy/girl had settled and what they had been up to that day. 🐕

Finding the right place for my 2 fur babies to stay when we were overseas for 6 weeks was the most stressful part of planning the trip! We finally found Rosies Retreat, and were put in contact with Carlene. Carlene is such a lovely person and after a few weekend trials, we knew this was the right place for them. Jessie, my lab, is an OAP and Riley, was a very active adolescent. Managing the needs of both would not have been easy but Carlene seemed to take this in her stride. Weekly photos and updates kept us in the loop and Jessie & Riley always looked happy and relaxed. Not once did I worry about them when I was away and on return I could see that they'd had a fabulous time! For a fantastic home-from-home experience, where your dogs will be pampered and very loved, I cannot recommend enough. Thank you Carlene!
